Army Day in Rachaya 2024

"Walking with you to protect civil peace"

The Municipality of Rashaya and the Rashaya Youth Gathering, in cooperation with the Fighters for Peace NGO, organized a joyful children's festival at the Independence Castle, in celebration of the Lebanese Army Day. The festival aimed to promote the values of citizenship and civil peace, and to appreciate the role of the army in protecting the nation. The event witnessed around 5000 people, widespread participation from various age groups, with a variety of activities that were well-received by the audience.

In attendance were representatives of notable figures including MP Wael Abou Faour's representative, the Progressive Socialist Party's Southern Bekaa Interior Agent, Arif Abu Mansour, representatives of MPs Charbel Maroun, Tony Al-Haddad, the representative of the Army Commander, General Joseph Aoun, Brigadier General Rafiq Al-Laham, the Mayor of Rashaya, Nabil Al-Masry, the head of the Union of Municipalities of Jabal Sheikh, Jaris Al-Haddad, the official of the Marada Movement in Rashaya, Musa Zgheib, the official of the Democratic Party in Rashaya, Jamal Al-Barqashi, the Executive General of the Nationalist Party in Rashaya, Khaled Raydan, in addition to A crowd of officers, retired officers, mayors, mukhtars, activists, personalities, and a crowd of residents.

Speeches were delivered by the Mayor of Rashaya Rashrash Naji, the President of the Union of Jabal Sheikh Municipalities, Jaris Al-Haddad, the President of the “Rashaya Youth Assembly,” Faryal Saab, and the President of the “Fighters for Peace”, Ziad Saab.

The festival commenced with the national anthem, performed by the "Rashaya Children's Choir". This was followed by a folklore performance by the "Amir troupe", in addition to diverse artistic displays. The event concluded with a lively party.
