Fighters for Peace had the honor of hosting a special walking tour along the historic Green Line for His Excellency Mr. Kurt Georg Stoeckl-Stillfried, the German Ambassador to Lebanon, and Mrs. Rebecca Aounn , Youth Ambassador of the Day.
The tour was led by Nassim Assaad, ex-combatant and dedicated member of Fighters for Peace. Starting at the National Museum, we walked along the path that once divided Beirut during the Lebanese Civil War. Along the way, Nassim shared powerful insights into the city’s past, his personal transformation, and the importance of dialogue and reconciliation.
Christina Foerch Saab , Head of International Relations at Fighters for Peace, added a deeply emotional layer to the tour by sharing memories tied to past testimonies and interviews with ex-combatants, many of which were rooted in locations along the Green Line.
The tour concluded at Beit Beirut Museum, where participants explored the stories of the war and reflected on the importance of preserving collective memory to build a more peaceful future.
