We congratulate the National Commission for the Missing and Forcibly Disappeared @ncmfd_lebanon on winning the Award for Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding in Lebanon, presented by the Ghazal Foundation and the @fondationdefrance .
This well-deserved recognition honors a long and deeply human struggle for truth, justice, and the preservation of Lebanon’s collective memory.
We are proud to be part of this national journey, supported by this award, which sheds light on sincere and steadfast initiatives working toward sustainable peace based on rights and dignity.
In a 2016 press conference held in front of the Families of the Missing tent in Gebran Khalil Gebran Garden, Fighters for Peace called for the creation of a Truth and Equitability Commission to uncover the fate of all the missing, wherever they were, and regardless of their affiliations. This stance continues to be a cornerstone of our unwavering support for this deeply human and national cause.
All respect to the National Commission for being a voice for victims and their families, and deep gratitude to the supporting institutions for their continued commitment to the path of transitional justice and peace.
