At Fighters for Peace, youth are central to shaping a peaceful Lebanon. FFP equips young people with the skills, knowledge, and perspectives needed to navigate division and resist the pull of violence. Through dialogue sessions in schools and universities, ex-combatants share their stories of war and transformation, fostering empathy, critical thinking, and alternatives to extremism. The interactive X-Games raises youth’s awareness of how violent extremist groups work, thus preventing youth from falling into the trap and violent narratives of such groups. Youth build practical peacebuilding skills—such as conflict resolution, Nonviolent Communication, and Insider Mediation skills to strengthen nonviolent leadership.
Young participants also help document Lebanon’s collective memory through oral history projects, gaining technical skills while deepening their understanding of the country’s past. Creative initiatives like podcasts and youth camps further encourage them to express their views and take active roles in their communities. Together, these efforts empower youth to become agents of reconciliation and contributors to a more cohesive, peaceful future.
