We, the former fighters from all sects, were swept by the civil war.

We inherited a future that denies the other’s right to have a different opinion.

We destroyed our humanity more than anything else, and we killed our souls with every soul that fell because of us.

Believe us when we say that you will carry your sins forever and regret will never help.

We, the former fighters, have decided to become Fighters for Peace.

We ask the fighters of today to realize what we have realized way too late.

In a civil war, everyone loses.

Let us build bridges, let us tear down walls.

The future is always around the corner. We will all have to sit together, from all backgrounds, to rebuild our countries and societies.

So let us choose peace over killing, dialogue over fighting, and love over hatred.
